What are Brainwaves?

Brainwaves are the actual rise and fall of the electrical impulses sent throughout the brain. The brain is made up of billions of neurons, each one constantly communicating with the others around it with electrical impulses. Because so many are firing at once the electrical activity actually forms waves or pulses of electrical activity which we call  brainwaves.
